It's (almost) Time!

<< Ecclesiastes 3 >>
New International Version

A Time for Everything
1There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:

It's only one week away!! Homeschool season is back. Hasn't summer gone by fast? And now with only a week left, it's time to prepare. The following is a list of 6 things to do before summer ends.
1. Get Back On Your Sleep Schedule
No sleeping in when school starts! Start to go to bed and wake up at set times, put yourself on a regular schedule. That way, when school starts you'll feel energized and well rested, instead of grumpy and tired.
2. Look Through Materials
Once you have your books and guides, look through them to get comfortable with the information. Look at the overview of the year to see what you are learning. See if there are any assignments the guide asks you to do before the first seminar, and do them.
3. Buy or Make a Planner
Once you are familiar with the material, get or make a schedule, which you can organize when you will do each subject. This takes a lot of pressure off your first week. If you have a planner, then you will not have to worry about what you will do when, on your first day. I recommend getting a schedule where you can change the content when needed, because if your schedule doesn't work out one week, it will be easy to change. If you do make your own planner, it's easy to customize it to how you like it. For example, I'm making my schedule to incorporate class notes, my schedule, a to-do list, and a Bible verse/devotional all in one.
4. Fill Out Papers
Specifically, the Etiquette Agreement, Risk Waiver, and Student Information sheet. All of which can be found in the guide.
5. Buy School Supplies and Organize Your Backpack
Make a list of what you need, look for good deals, and buy the things. (Of course this part comes naturally to mothers, I don't see a need to even put it on the list. :-D) Once all materials are collected put it all in your backpack, making sure to include everything on the list of necessary materials (found in the guide)
6. Have One Last Fun Time!
Do one last fun thing, while you still have the chance. Go swimming, have a back-to-school party, have a BBQ, go to the lake, go to Natural Falls State Park!  Link- http://www.travelok.com/listings/view.profile/id.5293 (I went here this summer, just for a day, and it was GREAT. It had a 70 foot waterfall and hiking trails, even a place to swim in crystal clear water. So much fun!) The choices are endless, and doing something fun and relaxing can help relieve any pre-school stress.
I hope this will help you prepare for the changing of seasons.
See you all soon,
Hannah
